Notes and Limitations
This section includes notes and limitations for the Business Process Testing Enterprise Extension 10.00 release and is divided into the following topics:
General
- It may take 30-45 minutes to enable Business Process Testing Enterprise Extension when using an Oracle database.
- If a field becomes mandatory, it is not detected by running the component in Change Detection mode and this change is not indicated in the Change Detection Report.
- When selecting to remove a step from a Business Component in the Resolve section of the Change Detection Report, flow level parameters that are used by this step are not deleted.
- When the suggested resolution in the Change Detection Report is to add a step for a control, the Change Detection Report allows the user to insert any value for the new step. No validation is done on the value. The user is responsible to ensure that a valid value is used.
- When a checkpoint fails during a Change Detection mode run, the report does not provide an indication about whether the step failed because the checkpoint failed or because it was unable to perform the step (for example if an object was not found).
Workaround: To view details about why the step failed, open the regular QuickTest report rather than the Change Detection Report.
- In rare cases, the Change Detection Report indicates that type of control corresponding to the step changed even when it is not changed. In these cases, the Resolve area offers an option to change the object's type to the same type.
Workaround: Select the option to Ignore and mark as resolved.
- When re-learning a flow with the same steps as the first time the flow was learned, the new values are not saved and the test cannot be run.
Environment-Specific Applications
- If you use the F4 key in SAP tables while learning a flow, unnecessary input flow parameters are created.
- For performance reasons, when you learn a flow, the text label objects in your SAP application are not learned unless an operation is performed on them. Therefore, the Change Detection mechanism also does not capture changes on these types of objects except for changes to the specific labels that were captured (if any) during the learn process.
