Notes and Limitations
This section includes notes and limitations in the following areas:
Installation and Setup
- Before installing Enterprise Integration module for SAP applications 2.50 Patch 3, you must first uninstall any previous version of the extension.
- If you uninstall Enterprise Integration, you can no longer work with projects for which the Enterprise Integration extension was enabled.
- Before upgrading projects from Quality Center 9.2 with Enterprise Integration 2.10 to Quality Center 10.00 with Enterprise Integration 2.50, you must edit the qc_9.2_exceptions.xml file. For more information, refer to the HP Enterprise Integration module for SAP applications User Guide.
- You must connect to Quality Center from Solution Manager using a user name that has a non-empty password.
- You can connect to only one Quality Center server from each Solution Manager client.
- WebLogic: You cannot install Quality Center with Enterprise Integration on a WebLogic application server.
Requirement Synchronization
- Requirement and blueprint synchronization will not function in a Quality Center project in which one of the following requirement types was ever deleted: Folder, Business, Testing.
- If you manually create a Quality Center requirement and associate a test with the requirement, runs of the test are not generally updated in Solution Manager. The test runs are updated only if the requirement is created under a testing requirement created as a result of an export from Solution Manager.
- The following limitation applies if you add a user-defined field to the Requirements module and set the field as required. If you export a business blueprint from Solution Manager, new requirements created by Enterprise Integration have an empty value for this field, even though the field is required.
- URLs longer that 255 characters cannot be displayed. The URL is truncated when it exceeds 255 characters. The full URL is added to the Description field of the Quality Center requirement.
- When you relocate a testing requirement that originated from a Solution Manager Testing Object to the requirement tree, re-importing the blueprint will not move it to the original location. Instead, a new testing requirement is created in the original location.
If the original testing requirement is linked to any testing assets (tests, defects, etc.), they will remain linked to the first requirement that was moved and are not linked to the newly created requirement.
Workaround: Do not move testing requirements that were originated by a Solution Manager Testing Object inside the requirement tree.- If you associate a Solution Manager project to a Quality Center project and then associate the Solution Manager project to a second Quality Center project:
- If one test covers two requirements that originated from two SAP blueprints, it can cause problems when updating Solution Manager.
Workaround: Do not use the same test to cover requirements that originated in different blueprints.- Copying a requirement that originated from Solution Manager can cause problems while synchronizing the blueprint.
- Version Control: When you import an updated blueprint to a version control enabled project, more than one new version may be created, depending on the complexity of the blueprint change.
Defect Synchronization
- When you change an SAP-related defect to a different defect type, no warning displays, even though Enterprise Integration stops synchronizing the defect with Service Desk.
- If you set Quality Center to work in the Repository over Database mode, Enterprise Integration does not synchronize parts of the defect to Solution Manager.
Important: Do not use the Enterprise Integration extension with projects configured to work in the Repository over Database mode.- When you map a Quality Center field to an SAP field and the fields have different lengths, the text is cut according to the shortest field length when synchronizing.
Workaround: Map fields of the same size.- In an SAP-related defect, if you delete a link to a requirement or test, the link is not removed in the Service Desk support message.
- When you modify an SAP-related defect in Quality Center by adding and deleting an attachment during the same operation, the defect is not always synchronized with Solution Manager.
Workaround: To add an attachment and remove another attachment from a defect, add the attachment, move to a different area in Quality Center, then return to the defect and delete the unwanted attachment.Defect Synchronization on Localized Versions
Perform the following steps to enable defect synchronization in localized versions of Quality Center 10.00:
- Using WinRar, or an equivalent archiving tool, open the SPI.jar archive, located in the following directory:
<Quality Center_ installation_path>\application\20qcbin.war\WEB-INF\lib- Extract the EIBugStatuses.properties file to a temporary location. The file includes lines of status values. For example:
#Closed=frClosed
#Open=frOpen
- For each line containing a status value:
- Save the file, and replace EIBugStatuses.properties in the SPI.jar archive.
- Redeploy Quality Center.
- Restart Quality Center.
