This file provides information about QC IDE Connector Customizer 1.2.
What's New in Version 1.2
- Support for uploading workflow scripts to the IDE Connector is added. For more details, see Apply Workflow to the IDE Connector.
System Requirements
This section includes supported system configurations for IDE Connector Customizer 1.2 for Quality Center 10.00.
- Quality Center: Quality Center 10.00 all patch levels.
- Tasktop: Tasktop 2.1 or above.
- The system requirements for installing and running QC IDE Connector Customizer are the same as for Quality Center 10.00 client. For more information, refer to http://www.hp.com/go/TDQC_SysReq.
Prerequisites for QC IDE Connector Customizer
- To enable some of the synchronization capabilities, you must create user-defined fields in your HP Quality Center projects:
- To synchronize IDE task statuses with Quality Center requirements, verify that an appropriate Lookup List field is defined in the Requirement entity.
- To submit source code information to Quality Center entities, add a Memo Field to the Requirement and Defect entities.
For more information on creating user-defined fields in Quality Center, refer to the HP Quality Center Administrator Guide.
- To apply workflow rules to the IDE Connector, prepare a Javascript workflow file. You can download a workflow sample from the Tasktop support site.
Installation Instructions
Working with QC IDE Connector Customizer
QC IDE Connector Customizer enables you to define field mappings between IDE tasks and Quality Center entities, and to apply workflow rules to IDE Connector.
To work with QC IDE Connector Customizer:
- Verify that one of the following is installed on the machine on which you are running QC IDE Connector Customizer:
- Open QC IDE Connector Customizer and connect to Quality Center.
- To retrieve the current settings from the server, click Retrieve Settings.
- QC IDE Connector Customizer consists of Requirements, Defects, and Workflow tabs.
For details on working with the Requirements and Defects tabs, see Working with QC IDE Connector Customizer.
For details on working with the Workflow tab, see Apply Workflow to the IDE Connector.
- To close QC IDE Connector Customizer, select Actions > Exit.
Customize Quality Center and IDE Field Mappings
Define field mappings between IDE tasks and Quality Center entities.
- Open QC IDE Connector Customizer and connect to Quality Center. For more details, see Working with QC IDE Connector Customizer.
- Define fields as described in the following table.
Note: Wherever you are required to type a Quality Center field name, you must use the system field name, not the field label. For example, for the requirement Priority field, type RQ_REQ_PRIORITY.
- To reset any changes you made, click Restore Defaults. Default settings are restored in both tabs.
- To undo changes you made in the current session, click Retrieve Settings. Settings are loaded from the server.
- To save the settings, click Apply to Projects.
The Apply to Projects dialog box opens. Select the projects in the current domain to which you want to apply the settings.
Click Apply.
Apply Workflow to the IDE Connector
Upload a workflow file to the server.
Note: A sample workflow script is available on the Tasktop support site.
To apply workflow to the IDE Connector:
- Open QC IDE Connector Customizer and connect to Quality Center. For more details, see Working with QC IDE Connector Customizer.
- Click the Workflow tab.
- To upload a workflow script, click Upload Workflow.
The Apply to Projects dialog box opens. Select the projects in the current domain to which you want to apply the settings, and click Apply.
The Select workflow script dialog box opens, enabling you to select a workflow file from your file system.
Notes:
- To edit the workflow script currently installed on the server, click Download Workflow.
Select the location to which you want to save the workflow script.
After you download the workflow script, you can edit the script, and upload it again.
