Customize Quality Center and IDE Field Mappings

Define field mappings between IDE tasks and Quality Center entities.

  1. Open QC IDE Connector Customizer and connect to Quality Center. For more details, see Working with QC IDE Connector Customizer.
  2. Define fields as described in the following table.
  3. Note: Wherever you are required to type a Quality Center field name, you must use the system field name, not the field label. For example, for the requirement Priority field, type RQ_REQ_PRIORITY.

    Field
    Description
    Status field
The Quality Center field that corresponds to the task status.
Note: For requirements, a user-defined lookup list field must be added in Quality Center. For more information on creating user-defined fields, refer to the HP Quality Center Administrator Guide.
    Priority field
The Quality Center field that corresponds to the task priority.
Map the priority values in the Priority Value Mapping section.
    Source code information field
The Quality Center memo field that receives source code information related to activated tasks.
Note: A user-defined memo field must be added in Quality Center. For more information on creating user-defined fields, refer to the HP Quality Center Administrator Guide.
    Read-only fields
Quality Center fields that cannot be edited by IDE users. Specify fields that should not be changed in the task.
    Examples: Name; Summary.
Tip: To list multiple values, separate the values with semicolons (;).
    Hidden requirement types
Requirement types that are not synchronized with the IDE. Specify requirement types that do not represent actual tasks.
    Examples: Folder; Group.
Tip: To list multiple values, separate the values with semicolons (;).
    Available from: Requirements tab
    Priority Value Mapping
For each task priority value, type a corresponding Quality Center priority value, or keep the default values.
Note: In Eclipse IDE, task priority levels are represented by icons.
Default QC/ALM Status value for new requirements/ defects
The initial status of new requirements or defects that are created in Quality Center when you submit new tasks in the IDE.
The value must be one of the possible values from the Status field lookup list.
Mark task as completed for following Status values
Values of the Status field that cause the task to be marked in the IDE as completed.
Tip: To list multiple values, separate the values with semicolons (;).
    Show RBQM Fields
Instructs the IDE to display Risk Based Quality Management fields in requirement tasks.
    Available from: Requirements tab
