TestDirector Version Control Third Party Prep Add-in


To use a third party version control tool with TestDirector, you must first install the TestDirector Version Control Third Party Prep Add-in. This add-in configures TestDirector and enables the integration with your third party tool. After you install this add-in, you can install a third party version control add-in.

After you install both add-ins, you can create a version control project in TestDirector Enterprise Edition. You can update and revise your tests, while maintaining previous versions of each test. This allows you to keep track of the changes made to each test in your TestDirector project, see how and when a test was modified, or return to a previous version of the test.

The following third party version control tools can be integrated with TestDirector. Note that they are developed, marketed, and supported by the vendors listed below. For more information, please contact the appropriate vendor.

Note: If you are using Microsoft Visual SourceSafe or Rational ClearCase, you do not need to install the TestDirector Version Control Third Party Prep Add-in.

Installation Instructions:

  1. Install a supported third party version control tool on your TestDirector server machine.
  2. Click Download Add-in to download and install this add-in on your TestDirector server machine. Note that to install this add-in, you must log in with administrator privileges.
  3. Install your third party version control add-in. For more information, contact your third party vendor.
